Dailies

Taking after darren (sort of) I'm limiting my time painting time to one day per image (probably works out to a total of 30min to an hour or two depending on the day)

I think its good to practice pushing a painting out and then moving on, I've a nasty habit of tweaking images for FOREVER.

Anyway heres a few from this week and last thursday. All these were started with the underpainting method I've been using lately.

 

 

Atmospheric mood setting

I was playing around with a new style here, using tips and tricks ive picked up from others but using them with my own ideas, I wanted to try out different scenes using different Colours to see what kind of mood each colour generated.

I had fun with these but felt like as soon as I had the main set down i was working into it slower and slower, afraid to add more incase i ruined what I like about them.
Each painting took from half an hour to an hour.

Maybe the next one ill see how far I can push myself.

So heres my latest WIP of that image I may have been rabbiting on about last night. Just lacking something.. another dash of a colour or a better focal point, fuck knows. Be happy to get some ideas off you lot.

Alrighty,
Just hit the forum up with some content there, guess its ready to be used.

So for every painting we do. Post it up here. If someone has something to crit about it, they should start a thread on the forum about it.

THIS FORUM

Link the original image using the image attachment system on the forum and add your paint over in the same manner if you have one. Or just do a text crit.

And finally, comment on the post here on blogger with a link to the thread on the forum.

Bit convoluted, but I'm sure we'll iron out the wrinkles eventually.
Ask if there's any confusion.

The Kids are back to school

Working on this lads, cant seem to understand lighting, should i do detailed shadow, or block in shapes, what would work better. i wanted to try get something very atmospheric , ice cold, yet sunny autum day, one a them days.
